Lamphey Park - Access Statement
Approach
Lamphey Park is approached from the ‘Ridgeway’ via an unmade farm lane. Signs for Lamphey Park are clearly visible at the entrance to the lane.
There is no lighting on the lane or on the Ridgeway road leading to Lamphey village.
Parking
There is a gravelled parking area adjacent to the house with parking for 6-7 cars, with a level walk to the front door
Parking for the self-catering cottages is provided in the walled garden to the rear of the cottages. The cottages have a rear access to the car parking area.
Lighting
Lamphey Park is situated in open country and it is not brightly lit. The car parking area and the front access to the house are lit and the front and rear entrances to the cottages have exterior lights.
We strongly recommend that guests bring a torch or flashlight, especially if they intend to walk into Lamphey village.
Lamphey Park House
There are four wide steps leading to the front door with no handrail.
All our guest bedrooms are on the first floor. They are accessed via a wide Georgian staircase in two flights with gentle steps and a firm handrail. The hall and stairs are well lit and a night light is left on overnight.
The house is furnished with Persian rugs, including the hallway and bedrooms. These rugs are not prone to rucking or slipping. Our shower rooms have non-slip tile floors and the bathrooms have natural wood floors.
We welcome guests with special mobility needs and we will help in every way to ensure their stay is an enjoyable one.
St Teilo’s Cottage
St Teilo’s Cottage is a two story cottage with the bedroom on the upper floor. There is a toilet with wash hand basin on the ground floor. The staircase is in two flights each of which has a quarter turn, and the rear door to the car parking in the walled garden opens onto the half landing.
The stairs are carpeted and the shower room and downstairs toilet have non-slip tile floors.
There is level access to the cottage from the front courtyard via wide double doors.
The Bakehouse
The Bakehouse has a double bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. However there is a single step down to the kitchen / dining room. There is level access to the Bakehouse from the courtyard.
The upstairs bedroom is reached via a two-flight staircase with the rear door to the car parking in the walled garden opening onto the half landing.
Guests with special mobility needs may park at the entrance to the courtyard which provides easy level access to both St Teilo’s Cottage and the Bakehouse.
The Bathhouse
The Bathhouse is a two bedroom cottage with the bedrooms on the upper floor. There are no downstairs toilet facilities. The stairs are carpeted and the shower room has a non-slip tile floor.
It is accessed from the car parking area in the walled garden via a flight of twelve steps. The steps can be lit at night.
The Bathhouse can also be accessed directly from Lamphey Park house.
